Mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle explained

Several unexplained mysteries have been linked to the Bermuda Triangle.  Ship wreckages, mysterious disappearances of airplanes and other strange happenings have been associated with the triangle.

These occurrences have not fully been explained. More than 50 ships and 20 airplanes were said to have disappeared mysteriously here. Some ships discovered were completely abandoned and the reasons for the disappearances were not explained. There have been reports of even aircrafts and search teams disappearing at this location even without transmission of distress signals.

Several attempts have been made to explain these occurrences. One theory is that supernatural causes are responsible for the disappearances while another links the disappearances to weather and other environmental factors like massive waves of up to 100 feet (30.5 meters) and navigational errors.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), USA, does not believe a mysterious Bermuda Triangle, as there is no evidence that the so-called mysterious disappearances at Bermuda Triangle is of greater frequency than any other well-travelled areas of the Ocean. Despite the NOAA assertion, the mysterious theories of the Bermuda triangle seem to predominate.

A number of scientists also disagree about the fact that the Bermuda Triangle is mysterious. An Australian scientist, Karl Kruszelnicki says there are no reasons to believe in the Bermuda triangle phenomenon. The scientist completely agrees with the stand of the NOAA that Bermuda Triangle is not mysterious. According to NOAA, the Triangle’s mysteries could not have been so as there are reports of airplanes and boats venturing through the triangle without any event. The NOAA in 2010 further explained that

“Environmental considerations could explain the many, if not most of the disappearances. The majority of Atlantic tropical storms and hurricanes pass through the Bermuda Triangle and in the days prior to improved weather forecasting these dangerous storms claimed many ships. Also, the Gulf Stream can cause rapid, sometimes violent changes in weather”

NOAA does not also believe in the mapping of Bermuda Triangle. Several other scientists share the same view with NOAA. For instance, in a 2018 publication by Fox News, natural rogue wave was explained to be probably responsible for the occurrences in the triangle. For Kruszelnicki, despite the high-profile disappearances he remains adamant that there is nothing mysterious about Bermuda triangle.

Despite the various explanations, it is still enigmatic what really happens at the Bermuda Triangle. The theories of spiritual beings, aliens, mermaids, and other strange forces have continued to surround this area, however, the present theories about weather, tactical errors by navigators and pilots, as well as other probabilities which recently surfaced is distilling the earlier mysterious beliefs about Bermuda Triangle.

According to Encyclopedia Britannica, Bermuda Triangle is a section of the North Atlantic Ocean, off North America that has a vaguely triangular shape marked by the Atlantic coast of the Florida (USA), Bermuda and the Greater Antilles.
