
Qualcomm, a US chipmaker, has announced that it is buying Autotalks, an Israeli startup which develops smart vehicles communication systems to improve road safety and help prevent car collisions.
To expand its automotive enterprises, Qualcomm Technologies has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Autotalks.
According to Qualcomm,
“Through the acquisition the production-ready, dual mode, Autotalks standalone safety solutions will be incorporated into Qualcomm Technologies expanding Snapdragon Digital Chassis product portfolio, the company’s comprehensive set of cloud-connected automotive platform”
In a report by the Times of Israel an estimated purchase price between $350 million to $400 million is said to be involved.

The US chipmaker has over the years invested in several Israeli startups to particularly promote artificial intelligence technologies including robotics and machine learning.
