Visas for migrant farm workers announced in UK

Rishi Sunak, the UK prime minister announced an extra 10,000 visas for the agricultural sector workers

The United Kingdom (UK) has been struggling with soaring prices of food just like a lot of many nations. Members of the UK food industry, including farmers, supermarket owners recently discussed with the UK prime minister and other government officials about how UK can improve food production and its sells.

In this gathering, Rishi Sunak, the UK prime minister announced an extra 10,000 visas for the agricultural sector workers. Although several border control measures aim to reduce cross border migration, deficit of certain categories of workers in most western nations have prompted measures to shore up their work force. The 10,000 visas announcement for the agriculture sector is an addition to the previously 45,000 visas quota for the same sector which was announced in 2022.
