
A terror attack against Jews and Israelis in Cyprus have been foiled according to Cyproit media. The planned attack is suspectedly linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards which many countries regard as a terror organization, including Israel and USA.
The Republic of Cyprus is an Island nation located in Western Asia. It is surrounded by Egypt, Greece, Southern Turkey, Lebanon, and Syria. Cyprus is a popular tourists destination for Israelis.
Earlier this year, Israeli Security Council had warned of terrorists threats against Israelis abroad, advising citizens to apply necessary cautions all around the world during the spring holidays. Israel have constantly regarded Iran as the main source of terrorism and a country that continues to promote activities that could harm citizens of Israel directly or through its proxy elements operating in several countries of the world. The warning was particular about attacks of Israelis in Cyprus and Greece.
According to Cyprus intelligence which cooperated with other intelligence network of several countries, including Israeli and US agents, the said plot was thwarted. The terrorists activities were monitored in Cyprus for month until their attempts were frustrated.
According to several sources and Times of Israel, there had been previous reports of targets against Israelis in several countries. Most of the attacked were allegedly linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, allegations that have severally been denied by Iran. Last year in Turkey a suspected Iranian agent attempted to kill Israeli but the attack was foiled by security agents. Three men were arrested due to the attempted murder. In the same year attacks against Israelis in Thailand and Georgia were also thwarted . Most of these allegations refuted and denied by Iranian Authorities.
