Qualcomm, a US chipmaker, has announced that it is buying Autotalks, an Israeli startup which develops smart vehicles communication systems to improve road safety and help prevent car collisions.

The United Kingdom is set to resume animal testing of make-up ingredients. The decision was to align with EU rules which permits animal testing of make-up chemicals. Animal testing of make-up ingredients was banned in UK since 1998 to minimize animal suffering.

An ancient Greek tomb has been discovered in Italy through the use of cosmic rays. According to The Jerusalem Post, “the researchers that participated had prior knowledge of the Greek burials but weren’t able to access them until cosmic rays enabled to peer into the historical sites without digging“.

On the 6th of January 2023 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Lecanemab-irmb through the accelerated approval pathway to treat Alzheimer’s disease. There has been rigorous efforts to combat this dreaded disease. Lecanemab is a second drug now approved for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. The first, named aducanumab, was earlier approved by FDA on the 7th of June 2021. The recent approval is a further step in addressing the life-threatening disease despite concerns over the potential side effects of the treatments.
